We are artists

supporting other artists to intentionally create for holistic healing and wellbeing of individuals and communities.

About Us

The Which House is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Founded in the belief that arts are an essential human right because they are essentially–fundamentally–human. They have the power to heal as well as entertain and educate. Western science continues to bear out the facts of what many have known since time immemorial: “art is how we human.” –Tasha Golden, PhD

Roots of Service

Presence

Support comes in many forms. TWH team is made up of artists with experience in deep listening and serving the process, and the people, behind the project. If it’s a rock to lean on, a cheerleader to keep a project progressing, or logistic and strategic advice, we’re invested in our partners’ success. Our main goal is always to integrate an intentionally healing process that cannot help but produce a verifiably healing outcome.

Collaborate

This is what lights us up. When ideas are flowing, new connections are forming, when conflict is approached with curiosity, and people have a purpose and a drive to improve the world within and without. We are social creatures who need to be in contact with each other to thrive. We all work better when there is mutual respect and recognition of the inherent value of each and every one of us.

Administrate

The minutiae, the filing, the buck-stop (if you will), we are the ones who lift the burden of worrying “what if I get this wrong?” We want our artists to be able to focus and dedicate as much brain power and emotional energy to their project as possible. So we take on tasks that for many artists would be overwhelming and project-ending.

Beyond Bars Collective

Beyond Bars is a curriculum created by Caitlin Cannon in collaboration with the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, FL. The CAA through their Prison Art Program has developed, trained, and facilitated the classes at Walton Correctional Facility for 100 inmates and counting.

This program changes the lives of both the songwriters and the incarcerated participants, and your support is the fuel for this transformation.

Beyond Bars Collective is a fiscally sponsored project of The Which House, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are received by The Which House for the benefit of Beyond Bars Collective and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Where your money goes: Funds for this program go directly to the songwriters of the Beyond Bars Collective for the work they do to coordinate, facilitate, and run each program in prisons outside of Walton County, FL. Have questions? Don’t hesitate to be in touch.
